FEEDING THE FUTURE
Ethembeni was birthed in the hearts of Pastor Harold and Maud Weitsz a few years ago with the desire to reach the poor and the needy, especially in the rural areas. Stirred by God's Word in Prov 19:17, which declares that "those who help the poor are lending to the Lord", they assembled a team under the leading of their son, Frank Weitsz, who since then have seen this initiative catapult into such a huge success where more than 1.2 million meals are being served annually to schools and poverty-stricken areas.
Our Mission statement states that Ethembeni trust is an NPO dedicated to community upliftment through school feeding programs, emotional and spiritual support, community care, and skills development.
As a result, we are committed to poverty alleviation by feeding the hungry and providing our rainbow nation's most vulnerable members' emotional upliftment. Ethembeni supports and helps through feeding schemes at schools and pre-schools with the added initiative of investing in early childhood development at various schools. We are now feeding in excess of 100 000 meals a month in Gauteng province alone through our feeding schemes. We're presently also active with similar initiatives in Mpumalanga and the Northwest Province whilst opening branches in the Eastern Cape and Kwazulu- Natal soon.
We most certainly see God's Hand in the work we do. This encourages us to continue with the work we do with the desire to make a difference in these people's lives, expanding God's initiative to a national level. We give God all the glory for what has been accomplished to date and look forward to taking hands with you as we continue to be a witness for Christ through the work we do.
We thank you for your continued prayers and support without which we can't do what we do.
